The SPHS Academic Decathlon team is leaving for State competition on Wednesday, March 1st, and they have asked if the SP Rotary would consider setting up one more round of interviews. The date we are looking at is Monday, February 27th. We would use the same format as before: 3:20 – 5:00 p.m.
We could do this with a minimum of six people (2 per team/3 teams). Any more than six would just make each Rotary team stronger, and it’s more fun when you have more volunteers.

The Catholic holiday of Candlemas, on 2 February, is a feast to commemorate the purification of the Virgin Mary and the presentation of baby Jesus. Sue,
I hope all is well. Are you in town or somewhere warm? Snow storm here today in Minneapolis...
I wanted to write and thank you so much for all your work on our behalf to make our retreats in Sun Prairie possible. I know the weather delayed a couple of retreats last week, but they are already rescheduled!
If there is anything that I can be doing to support your good work, let me know.
All the best,
Ali

Executive Assistant and Donor Relations Manager, Wisconsin "As an administrator, I have seen the positive impact of a Youth Frontiers retreat. The retreat leaders were able to break down our students’ barriers through a variety of fun, highly energetic and engaging activities and take them on an emotional, soul searching journey. By the time our retreat concluded, our students were electrified with excitement over how to improve themselves and act with courage. Both their teachers and I have seen a significant improvement in their interpersonal skills and are confident that this has impacted their lives outside of school as well." - Educator, Milwaukee, Wisc.

The Sun Prairie Rotary Foundation along with majority club support agreed to fund an inbound student for 2017-18. Typically the Sun Prairie Rotary Club will host an inbound Rotary Youth Exchange Student every other year. Toni Pabon and Steve Riggles announced to the club that they are looking to form a small committee to help with finding host families. If you would like to be part of this committee contact Toni or Steve.
We must secure a 1st host family for the next student by the end of May.
Stay tuned for updates on our future student and host families!
We are looking for a 3rd host family to host our Rotary Youth Exchange Student from France. If you know of anyone living in the Sun Prairie School District area who would be an awesome host family, please contact us. The host family would have our student for 4 months, between April - July 2017.
Hosting can be a very rewarding experience for your family. Check out this video on what other host parents have to say about it: CLICK HERE
Do you know what the world needs? More high-fives. Offering someone a high-five for a job well done or to simply say hello can be a great pick-me-up. You have the power to bring positivity and enthusiasm with you wherever you go. Give someone a high-five, tell them you love their face and watch their eyes light up!
