Family Fun Night Recap
Dear Rotarians,
We had a great turnout of families and Rotary members last Friday night.  We estimated we had over 200 people here and had Rotary members helping make creations in our Maker space area (Dina), help play games in the gym (the Whalens, Rich and Steve R) with families and I think they enjoyed themselves as well.
We have another one coming up on Friday, November 4 and would love to have Rotary members attend/volunteer at that one too.  Rich will bring another sign up sheet to one of the upcoming meetings.
Just wanted to keep you in the loop!

Good Work of The Sun Prairie Rotary Foundation
Proud to say that our Rotary Foundation was able to help with 2 local projects, one being the benches around the new sculpture at the Sun Prairie Library and the other is the continued support of the Community School with First Friday Nights.  Laura Jennings, President of The Sun Prairie Rotary Foundation, delivers the checks.

ColoniALE Fest

The Colonial Club Senior Center in Sun Prairie, WI will hold its 6th annual "ColoniALE Fest" on Friday, November 4, 2016.  With over 60 different types of beer and over  a dozen types of wine, this event has become a popular event over the years.  Wisconsin State Journal's Chris Drosner, aka "The Beer Baron" said:

“I’ve been to a lot of beer festivals, and ColoniALE is a nice change of pace, perfect for people with a budding interest in beer or intermediate connoisseurs. Its relatively intimate size and friendly people on both sides of the pouring tables – not to mention the good cause -- have kept me coming back.”

As Chris mentioned, the cause is a good one.  ColoniALE Fest raises money to help sustain the programs and activities of the Colonial Club and its mission:  to enhance the well-being and independence of older adults.  Whether we're delivering a nutritious meal to a homebound senior or providing compassionate care in the Adult Day Center, we're helping people age well.

This year, we welcome the Sun Prairie Rotary Club as a co-sponsor of our event.  The Rotary Club does lots of charitable work in Sun Prairie and around the globe and we're happy to have them join us.

All of us, regardless of age want to remain in our homes for as long as it's safely possible.  Your purchase of tickets will help make that possible.  Ticket price includes complimentary souvenir tasting glass, comprehensive program of beer descriptions and samples of great, local food.

Why Rotary?
Need Volunteers!
Dear Rotarians,
The District 6250 RYE Outbound Interviews are taking place on Sunday, November 6 at The Clarion Hotel in Baraboo.  This the last round of interviews that our future outbound students will participate in.  If they pass the interviews, they are officially accepted into the Youth Exchange Program for 2017-18.
We are looking for 8-9 Rotarians to help with interviews in the morning session which starts at 8:00 am and includes lunch.  In addition, we need another round of Rotarians to help in the afternoon session which could go until 5 pm.
