We had a busy meeting Tuesday! We had an awesome group of Rotarians and Nicholas from Kenya sharing his story of planting trees and bringing his community together. We also were able to present Bob Power and Laura Jennings from the Colonial Club with a $10,000 grant for their van from our Rotary Foundation and a matching grant from our District 6250! Thanks to all who made this possible!
On Friday, May 20 through Sunday, May 21, 2016 our Rotary district will be hosting its annual conference at Union South in Madison. This event has been in the works for well over a year and will draw hundreds of Rotarians and guests. As you may suspect, an event of this magnitude requires a lof of people to ensure its success.
In order to make registration and the traffic flow as smoothly as possible, we'll need several volunteers. We've identified almost 30 short (1.5 - 3 hours) opportunities for you and your club members to help. These positions are for registration assistant and sergeant at arms and are not difficult. What little training is required will be provided by email and at the beginning of each shift.
Would you please share this need with your members? Two separate Doodle polls have been created for each of the type help needed.

Jade's first host family will be Sue Sue Halambeck. We are currently searching for two more host families. The second host family will host December - March and the third host family will host April - July 2017. If you know of anyone interested in hosting a student, please contact one of us:
Heroes inspire us to live and act with courage. Find a moment this week to be a hero and do a good deed for someone else or just be there when someone needs it most. You don't have to have superpowers to help others and be an everyday hero!
