2016 Spirit of Giving

AN ANNUAL GIFT-GIVING CELEBRATION

Many of our neighbors in this community could use an extra hand around the holidays to provide for their children. Your sponsorship of these children and donations of food means so much to the families. You are joining a community of thousands who are working together to make Christmas a little brighter in Sun Prairie.

Annually, you've helped us do just that! Your generosity supports about 1,200 area children (450 families) each Christmas.  For more information CLICK HERE

Jade Moves to 2nd Host Family
Jade has officially moved in with her 2nd Host Family, Michael, Wendy and Vicky Harris.  Her last night with Sue Halambeck was spent at the movie theater watching Rouge One:  A Star Wars Story.  THANK YOU SUE for hosting Jade!  You are an amazing host mom!

Jade will spend the holidays with the Harris's and is planning to go to Minnesota after Christmas with Dave Berggren.
Sun Prairie Foundation Project Funds Request
Last week I announced that the SP Rotary Foundation Board met and identified that there are funds available that we would like to allocate to community service projects. We know that many of you have interests in valuable and worthwhile causes throughout our community and, therefore, would like to be sure that the money we have, and was hard earned by you, is spent towards projects meaningful to our members.

Please send your suggestions to me, at ljennings@colonialclub.org,  on how we can allocate this money to help those in need.  We are looking for a description of a project or agency with information on how this money will directly impact the community it will serve. The number of requests will determine the amount available for a project, however, a rough estimate is to request between $500 and $2000.  If you have something outside that, feel free to submit it. I have attached the new Foundation funds request form as a helpful tool when looking at what information to include.

Donation to another Foundation will not be considered.

Please submit your ideas by December 31 so that we may evaluate if might also be eligible for a district grant.

As always, thank you for your dedication and hard work to help so many and create a strong community.

Happy Holidays and stay safe and warm this chilly December!

The Character Challenge

Resting can be hard work. In the busyness of life, we have to intentionally set aside time to refuel. Whether it's taking a nap, going for a walk with friends or journaling, be sure to make space for the activities that refresh you.
