Happy Spring!

Updates for this week include:

  • Get your Hoops for Hope dollars to Dave Berggren; a penny for every point your teams scored.  If you aren't sure how much you owe, check in with Dave or feel free to just round up to $20 :-) Jim Bell (the winner) has designated the Sunshine Place as the recipient of the money.
  • Tom Hebl is taking nominations for the service above self awards, which will be presented on June 3.
  • Barb Trimble asked for volunteers for the breakfast from 08:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 27 for Sunshine Days.  Please let Barb know if you would like to help.
  • Remember to bring an item for the "Date Night" theme basket SP Rotary will be donating to the District Conference silent auction.  We can't get too many items - any that won't be used for this basket will be used for the June golf tournament silent auction.
  • Consider attending the district conference on May 3 & 4.  The club will provide $25 towards your expenses to attend.  Contact Jim Mastrangelo if you would like to take advantage of this deal!

Our speaker was Tracy Herold, director of the Sun Prairie Library.  Tracy gave an overview of the Seedfolks reading project being sponsored by the library. The book can be picked up, free, at several locations around Sun Prairie including the library.  It is a short, easy to read story about 13 people in a community who join together to plant a community garden.  Along the way, they learn many lessons along the way about each other and overcoming obstacles.  The project will culminate when the author, Paul Fleischman, presents at Sun Prairie High School on October 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Have a good holiday weekend.  See you on Tuesday.
