Stacy Reese from Sustain Dane gave an overview of their Business Champion program.  Sustain Dane works with area business to help them improve their use of local resources and conserve energy by tracking gas, water and electricity useage.  A green team is organized within the company who then develops the plan for the company to make  improvements.  For example, one company installed motion sensors to activate the lights in vending machines which resulted in a yearly energy savings of several hundred dollars.

Other Rotary moments:

  • The golf committee is looking for help. Contact Mark Olsen or Rose Freidel if you are interested in helping.  The 2015 golf tournament will be in August and moved to the Oaks Golf Course.
  • Rich Darga gave an update on the Relay For Life scheduled for July 17 this year.  It will not be an overnight event so Rotary will not be serving the breakfast.  However, the committee has asked Rotary to serve the evening meal. He is also suggesting Rotary organize a team to participate in the walk. If you are interested in being involved, contact Rich.
  • Julie Marshall provided interesting information about the Rotary International Foundation -  92% of donations go directly to programs which ranks highly for non profit foundations.
  • Check out the District 6250 website to register for the upcoming district conference in Appleton.  Sun Prairie Rotary will reimburse members the $25 registration fee.
Have a good weekend and see you Tuesday!
